Introduction

Our objective is to offer affordable advanced contracting, pricing and yield management products to the travel industry, placing particular focus on those sectors where products are priced "in advance".

All our products have been built using the latest .net technology from Microsoft and use XML to transfer data into and out of other client systems. They allow travel companies to:

  • load all their actual cost data and pricing assumptions,
  • generate prices and margins,
  • model different pricing scenarios and then
  • output prices to the reservation system.

Our AutoPricer pricing system is designed to allow tour operators to price any combination of air (scheduled and chartered), hotel, cruise, car rental and coach travel. All Extras that are included in package holidays such as insurance can also be priced. In fact there is no limit to the number of components and extras that can be priced and presented in any combination of packages. Thus whether you want to price a single item of accommodation or a suite of complex tours these are catered for by AutoPricer

The core functions of AutoPricer can be supplemented by any combination of four additional modules that offer additional functionality to facilitate:

  • production of daily margin reports (subject to a booking feed from the reservation system or data warehouse),
  • management of "late" availability prices
  • generation of contracts remotely and email back to head office location and
  • output of prices directly to brochure pages.

If you're a Package Tour operator, Cruise operator or Ski company, the absence of any easy to implement and affordable pricing and yield management tools will no doubt result in the use of complex and unreliable spreadsheets for the production of prices and a reliance on time consuming and potentially inaccurate manual data entry of other key pricing data. For this reason pricing is usually a highly time pressured activity focused heavily on data entry rather than the pricing and scenario modelling that should take place.

Whilst spreadsheet based methods may have proved reasonably effective over the years, it is important to note the following:

  • Multiple data entry is time and resource consuming and creates inaccuracies and inconsistencies
  • Spreadsheet based methods often result in the holding of data in a number of different systems with limited ability to transfer data between them
  • The limited visibility of margins both before prices are published and thereafter when bookings are made creates significant financial risks
  • The lack of modelling capability makes it very difficult to determine the correct level of prices and often results in a "that will do" approach to final brochure prices
  • Spreadsheets are prone to formula errors and are heavily dependant on the person that originally constructed them
  • Earlier brochure launch dates mean fewer confirmed costs at the time of brochure pricing and an ever narrowing time window to produce prices and brochures
